Symptoms of both depression and anxiety are often linked to maladaptive coping strategies as a way to survive current stressors, past traumas, and learned ways of relating to oneself and the world. that may be creating more challenges. Together, we can explore these challenges from a place of curiosity and openness, while integrating healthier ways to relate to emotions and life.
Individuals can experience symptoms associated with past and present traumatic circumstances. These symptoms may include a range of emotions, behaviors, and physiological responses that can interfere with ones overall well being and ability to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Throughout my work with clients, we focus on the relationship between the mind and body in the here and now, while working with both past and present experiences as they may naturally occur during our work together.
As a CADC, I hope to provide a non judgemental space where clients can explore their relationship to addictive substances and behaviors. This may include relationships to food, substances, sexual and romantic relationships and codependency. Denial, fear and shame are commonly connected with addictive cycles. I offer guidance and support to those struggling with their own addictive patterns, including individuals who are in recovery or who have been directly impacted by a loved ones addiction.
